There are a lot of variations on the French martini. Gin or Vodka? With or without champagne? Chambord or Creme de Cassis? The drink apparently has been floating around for almost 150 years but has no definitive make-up. This is not a Dry Vodka Martini. So, after drinking about 10 different recipes, and coming up with a few of my own, I have decided that this is what I want to drink when I have a French martini.

Please leave a comment and let me know what you think. Also, I will post the variations that I used going forward if you want them.

2 oz. Unflavored Vodka

2 oz. Pineapple Juice

1 oz. Chambord (although Raspberry liqueur works)

3/4 oz Creme to Cassis

1. Combine Vodka, Pineapple, Chambord, and Creme de Cassis in a shaker. I prefer about two ice cubes per drink.

2. Shake per instructions with the rules.

3. Pour into a martini glass. Add about 3/4 of an ounce of Champagne.

4. Enjoy.
